Inspired by the various rays of light that shine through the facets of a diamond portraying its’ brilliance. Phatsima is derived from the Setswana word which means shine. For us it symbolises to give light, the light of happiness that jewellery brings to one’s life for any special occasion.
Nontando Molefe is the founder of Phatsima Jewellery designs. She is one of the best world renowned successful jewelry designers. Her passion for jewellery started at the age of 16 years old. She attended the National School of The Arts where she did all her academic subjects and specialised in Fine art where jewellery designing was one of the subjects. That is where her love for jewellery designing and manufacturing started.
After graduating at The University of Johannesburg she went on to study a business management course and worked for a number of well-known top Luxury jewellery companies in South Africa.
In the year 2014 she furthered her studies doing a Post Graduate course in Advanced Jewellery Designing through the Jewellery Council of South Africa and the Gauteng Development Agency.

Finalist for The Anglo Gold riches of Africa jewellery design competition where she was chosen to be one of the top 23 finalists among 1200 entries in South Africa. Due to her excellent achievements in school, Anglo gold also rewarded her with a bursary.
- South African Coin Mint jewellery design competition where she designed and manufactured a neck piece inspired by the African drums.
- In 2010 Phatsima Jewellery designs was born and was very well received. Today Phatsima has a huge data base of loyal clients that believe in the vision of her company. All our diamonds are 100% conflict-free, certified and sourced from the best reputable suppliers in South Africa. All products will be supplied with classy packaging and an invoice. Jewellery from R5000 and more will have a valuation certificate for insurance purposes. Custom made jewellery is delivered within 3 weeks from the date that the product is ordered and a deposit is paid.
Items that are available for purchase can be collected or despatched for delivery as soon as the client has made the payment.
